Gene Ackerman, 68, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at
3:40 a.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

LINCOLN-Gene Ackerman, 68, of Lincoln, passed away
at 3:40 a.m. on July 10, 2013 at St. John's
Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Gene was born on March 26, 1945 in Lincoln, IL the
son of Marvin C. and Ruth Ramlow Ackerman. He
married Carla Jean Donath on February 7, 1970 in
Lincoln, IL.
Gene is survived by his wife, Carla, of Lincoln; his
mother Ruth Ackerman of Lincoln; two daughters: Miki
(Todd) Farwell of Morton, IL and Franni (Tom)
Vlahovich of Philo, IL; two sisters: Phyllis (Tom)
Cosby of Lincoln and Wilma (Gary) Donath of Athens,
IL; four grandchildren: Delaney Farwell, Maddy
Farwell, Eric Vlahovich and Evan Vlahovich. He was
preceded in death by his father.

Gene was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of
First United Methodist Church of Lincoln.
Gene's wishes were to be cremated with no services.
Arrangements were entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
