[July 22, 2013]  Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital has been named among the nation's most wired hospitals in the 15th annual Health Care's Most Wired Survey. The survey is an industry-standard benchmark study that measures the level of information technology used in U.S. hospitals and health systems.

ALMH is an affiliate of Memorial Health System. Another affiliate, Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, was also named to the list.

The survey, conducted between Jan. 15 and March 15, asked hospitals and health systems nationwide to answer questions regarding their information technology initiatives. Respondents completed 659 surveys, representing 1,713 hospitals, or roughly 30 percent of all U.S. hospitals.

"We are gratified and proud that two of our Memorial Health System hospitals have earned recognition as ‘Most Wired' hospitals for 2013," said Dr. David Graham, senior vice president and chief information officer of the health system. "This validates the successful execution of our decade-long commitment to an electronic health record strategy to provide safe, high-quality and patient-centered care to all those we serve."

The two hospitals join an elite list of national leaders in the area of technological innovation, including Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Graham said.
