            		EMDEN -- Donald W. Wagner, 81, of Emden, 
			died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 5:09 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center 
			in Springfield.

							EMDEN-Donald W. Wagner, 81, of Emden died Tuesday, 
							July 16, 2013 at 5:09 pm at Memorial Medical Center 
							in Springfield.  
							He was born February 19, 1932 at rural Hartsburg, a 
							son of George and Mabel Bree Wagner. He married 
							Betty Gail Shirley August 17, 1952 in Emden. She 
							survives.  
							Also surviving are two daughters: Donna (Bruce) 
							Struebing, Hartsburg and Debra Wagner, Emden; one 
							sister: Pat (Don) McCann of Lincoln; three 
							grandchildren: Derek (Brittney) Struebing, Sarah 
							(Bobby) Kennedy and Hannah Wagner and six great 
							grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one 
							brother: Wayne Wagner; two sisters: Bernice Rettberg 
							and Georgia Ann Harms. 
							Donald was a carpenter and served in the U.S. Army. 
							He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of 
							St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Emden American Legion 
							Post 506 and Riverside Rod and Gun Club. He was a 
							commissioner and president of the Emden Park Board 
							for many years. | 
                    
					 
							Funeral services will be Friday, July 19 at 10:00 
							a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Emden, IL 
							with Rev. John Schurter officiating. Visitation will 
							be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 and one hour prior to 
							service at the Church. Burial will be in Bethel 
							Cemetery, Rural Emden, IL with full military rites 
							by Emden American Legion Post 506. The family 
							suggests memorials to Emden Park District for 
							improvements to the Community House or to St. 
							Peter's Lutheran Church.
