The 27-year-old pop star will perform her new single at the Aug. 25 awards show, which will air live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., MTV announced Thursday. Gaga sang the national anthem at New York's Gay Pride last month.
She'll release a new album, "ARTPOP," on Nov. 11.
Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the VMA Awards with six nominations each. Bruno Mars is up for four awards. Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus, Pink and Thirty Seconds to Mars have three nominations each.
