LINCOLN --
James R. Hayes, 81, of Lincoln, died Friday, May 24, 2013,
at his daughter's home in Chestnut.

Lincoln- James R. Hayes, 81, of Lincoln passed away
on Friday, May 24, 2013 at his daughter's home in
Chestnut.
Funeral services for Mr. Hayes will be held on
Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Peasley
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00
p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.
James Robert Hayes Sr, was born on November 23, 1931
in Bristol, Virginia the son of Virgil and Maude
Smith Funk. He married Helen Louise Renfrow on April
15, 1950. She preceded him in death on July 25,
1992.
He is survived by his children: James R. "Bob"
Hayes, of Wilimington, Kim (TIm) Daugherty of
Chestnut, Debbie (Jim) Wheeler of Ellsworth.
half-brother: Duane (Margo) Funk of Peoria. Ten
grandchildren, Fifteen great grandchildren.
Mr. Hayes was a member of the Lincoln Christian
Church. He served in the United States Air Force. He
retired in 1986 from PPG after thirty years of
service.
