Illini Central High School top 10 graduates

[June 05, 2013]  MASON CITY -- Illini Central High School has announced its "Top Ten Academic Students" from this year's graduating class. The top students in order of rank are as follows:

  • Trent Nation is valedictorian for the Class of 2013. He is the son of Tony and Jill Nation. He plans to join the Air Guard and attend the University of Illinois Springfield, majoring in veterinary science. Trent graduated with a grade-point average of 3.960.

  • Mersades Kirby is salutatorian for the Class of 2013. She is the daughter of Doug Kirby. She plans to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago, majoring in biology. Mersades graduated with a GPA of 3.951

  • Dominick Garrison is the son of Barry and Lori Garrison. He plans to attend Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, majoring in business. Dominick graduated with a GPA of 3.829.

  • Ean Albers is the son of Kim and Deb Albers. He plans to attend Butler University, majoring in chemistry. Ean graduated with a GPA of 3.775.

  • Daniel Maxson is the son of John and Gaye Maxson. He plans to attend Illinois College, majoring in music. Daniel graduated with a GPA of 3.683.

  • Grant Bale is the son of Darren and Brenda Bale. He plans to attend the University of Illinois, majoring in ag accounting. Grant graduated with a GPA of 3.671.

  • Emily Ebken is the daughter of Greg and Jackie Ebken. She plans to attend Lincolnland Community College, majoring in nursing. Emily graduated with a GPA of 3.588.

  • Alanie Bruns is the daughter of Jake Bruns. She plans to attend Methodist School of Nursing. Alanie graduated with a GPA of 3.486.

  • Justin Onken is the son of J.R. and Jennifer Onken. He plans to attend Webster University, majoring in political science. Justin graduated with a GPA of 3.469.

  • Corey Norton is the son of Nick and Kim Norton. He plans to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale, majoring in aviation technology. Corey graduated with a GPA of 3.438.
