            The Logan, Mason and Menard
Regional Office of Education reminds all current and future GED
test-takers that the current version of the GED test will expire at
the end of 2013. The final date for the full test will be Nov. 12.
The current version, known as the 2002 Series GED test, will be
replaced with the new 2014 GED test beginning on Jan. 2, 2014. |

            | Those who have taken the 2002 Series GED test but have not passed
all five parts have only until the end of 2013 to pass that test. In
2014, individuals will need to start over again with the new
computer-based GED test in order to receive their high school
equivalency credential. "The GED test opens doors to college, better jobs, the respect
adults deserve and the satisfaction of earning a high school
credential," said Jean Anderson, regional superintendent of schools
for Logan, Mason and Menard counties. "We want to be sure that
everyone is aware of this deadline. GED test-takers must act now to
finish and pass before the current test expires. "Support is available, right here in all three of our counties,"
Anderson said. "Area community colleges offer free preparation
classes, and GED provides a website that can help adult learners
prepare to take the parts of the GED test they still need to pass.
Please call our office at 217-732-8388 or 309-543-2192 for more
information. We want you to succeed!"
