MOUNT PULASKI -- Wednesday the
Mount Pulaski Community Band will present the first of four summer
evening concerts -- this one in the bandstand on the Mount Pulaski
Courthouse lawn, where attendees will nestle themselves in their
lawn chairs in the shade of the courthouse and trees, in addition to
those comfortably reclined in their cars parked on the southeast
side of the square. All performances begin promptly at 7 p.m.

Conductor Harry Hild introduces each piece with interesting
background information. Performances last year included these
selections: "Aztec Fire," "Escapada," "It Don't Mean a Thing," "Hymn
to the Saints," "Bridgeview," "Thames Alley March," "Acclamations,"
"Bugle Call Rag," "Morning Has Broken," "March Militaire," "Raise
Your Joys and Triumphs High," and "Transit of Venus." Of course, the
"Star-Spangled Banner" is always played.
Sponsors are Mount Pulaski Grade School, Mount Pulaski Park
District, AMP Studios, Bill and Judy Cavestani, and the Tomlinson
Trust.
