CHESTNUT -- Wendolynn "Wendy" Sara
Buehler Austin, 55, of High Springs, Fla., formerly of Chestnut,
died Jan. 15, 2013, in Gainesville, Fla., after an extended illness.

Chestnut - Wendolynn (Wendy) Sara Buehler Austin,
55, of High Springs, FL formerly of Chestnut died
January 15, 2013, in Gainesville, Florida after an
extended illness.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Austin will be held at
the Laenna Cemetery in Chestnut on Saturday, June
29, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Paulsen
officiating. Military Rites will be accorded.
Mrs. Austin was born in Lincoln, IL on February 28,
1957 to Mr. and Mrs. Albert James Buehler, who
preceded her in death. Mrs. Austin was raised in
Chestnut, IL and graduated from Mt. Pulaski High
School in 1975 and enlisted in the U.S. Army that
same year. After being promoted to Sergeant, she
left the service to pursue a college degree at the
University of Florida while being involved in their
ROTC program. Mrs. Austin graduated the University
of Florida in 1986 with a degree in computer science
and accepted a regular Army active duty commission
as a Signal Corps Officer. She met and married Paul
Austin in 1992 while stationed at Ft. Huachuca, AZ.
She and her family then left the military during a
military drawn down period and returned to Florida.

Mrs. Austin has been employed by the State of
Florida Department of Corrections since May 1993
working in several areas throughout the state. She
last worked as a Computer Systems Administrator. She
also received a 20 year retirement letter from the
Army Reserves in 1998 as a Major. Wendy recently has
been actively involved in her church and life group
with Christ Central of Alachua. She loved studying
God's Word, candy and bringing a smile to others.
Mrs. Austin is survived by her husband, Paul Austin;
daughter, Amelia (Amie) Nicole Buehler Kaufman;
brothers, Bert and Hugh Buehler; sister, Cathy
Gerdes and one granddaughter.
