City closes a portion of S. Kickapoo Street due to Oasis fire

[June 29, 2013]  As a result of the extensive damage in a fire on June 21 at the Oasis building, 501 Pulaski St., it will be necessary for the city of Lincoln to close a portion of the 200 block of South Kickapoo Street. The city will need to put up barricades and protective fencing.

A structural engineer has determined that the west wall is unstable, and the city is temporarily barricading the northbound lane of South Kickapoo until the wall can be properly braced and supported.

For more information in regard to this matter, contact John R. Lebegue, building and safety official, at 217732-6318.
