Anna Jane Hughes, 82, of Lincoln, passed away March 11, 2013 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, March 15, 2013 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln with Pastor Emily Williams officiating. Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Following the graveside service there will be food and fellowship at the Eagle's Lodge 2708 in Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 4:30 until 7:30 Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln with Eagle's rites performed at 7:30 PM.

Anna was born April 24, 1930 in Topeka, IL., the daughter of Casper and Bertha (Hammack) Walkins. She married John "Jack" Hughes on March 15, 1948 in Lewistown, IL. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1987.

She is of the Christian faith. Anna worked as a Mental Health Technician at Lincoln Developmental Center retiring in 1991. She was a member and Past President of the Eagles Lodge 2708 Auxiliary in Lincoln, IL.

Surviving are her daughters: Karen Ann Hughes and Sheila Colleen Jones both of Lincoln, IL; 7 grandchildren: Karen Hennefield, Brett Rouston, Charles Grimsley, Michael "Mike" Jones, Frederick Jones, Frank Jones II, and Brandon "John" Jones. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, 3 brothers: Esler Walkins, John Walkins, and Raymond Williamson and 3 sisters: Eldred Miller, Colleen Curless, and Frances Zadjura.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
