			William B. "Bill" Wyles, 89, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, March 13, 
			2013, at 3:50 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. (Below is a copy of 
							the obituary from the funeral home.) ___ 
							Lincoln-William B. "Bill" Wyles, age 89, of Lincoln, 
							IL died at 3:50 am at Abraham Lincoln Memorial 
							Hospital, Lincoln, IL on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. 
							Bill was born on March 10, 1924 in Lincoln, IL, the 
							son of Guy C. and Mabel Hartman Wyles. He married 
							Elizabeth Schneider on July 3, 1947 in Lincoln, IL 
							and she survives. They were married for 65 years. 
							Bill is also survived by one son, Gary (Donna) Wyles 
							of Atlanta, IL, one daughter, Lisa Evelsizer of 
							Lincoln, IL, three grandsons, Jeffrey Wyles of 
							Bloomington, IL, Jason Wyles of Lincoln, IL, Jeremy 
							Wyles of San Antonio, Texas, one granddaughter, 
							Elizabeth Evelsizer of Bloomington, IL, 2 great 
							grandsons, Ryan Wyles and Brayden Evelsizer, one 
							sister-in-law, Marilyn Schneider, five nieces and 
							three nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his 
							parents and one brother, Robert Wyles. He was the 
							last of his immediate family. 
							Funeral services for Bill will be at 1:30 pm on 
							Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 
							Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, IL
							with Chaplain Henry Johnson and Dustin Fulton 
							co-officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery with 
							full military rites by American Legion Post #263. 
							Luncheon will follow at Jefferson Street Christian 
							Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the 
							service on Saturday from 12:30-1:30 pm at the 
							funeral home. Memorials may be made to Jefferson 
							Street Christian Church or Abraham Lincoln Memorial 
							Hospital Foundation. | 
                    
					 
							 
							Bill served in the Navy Seabees in WW II in the 
							South Pacific in the Philippines and New Guinea. He 
							was a partner of Givan and Wyles Contracting and Ace 
							Hardware and owner of Logan County Rental Center all 
							in Lincoln, IL. Bill was an outdoorsman and loved to 
							hunt and fish, he and Elizabeth wintered for 12 
							years in Port Aransas, Texas on the Gulf of Mexico 
							and he was able to surf fish daily. Bill was a 
							member of the Jefferson Street Christian Church, a 
							member of the Lincoln American Legion Post # 263, 
							and he was a past president of the Lincoln Sportsman 
							Club.  
							Bill was recently honored to participate in the 
							ground breaking ceremonies as well as unveiling the 
							cornerstone and laying of the first brick of the new 
							Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Bill had laid the 
							first brick on the old ALMH building and he laid out 
							the brick work. Even though Bill owned three 
							businesses, he was always proud to boast that he was 
							a brick mason. Bill also was a wood carver and 
							enjoyed carving birds and animals and attended many 
							carver shows. He loved carving Santa Clauses for his 
							wife. |
