Dennis Lee Hatcher, 73, of Lincoln, passed away March 14, 2013 at St. Clara's Manor.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Dennis was born December 22, 1939 in Chicago, IL., the son of Thomas and Mary (Lee) Hatcher. He married Sally Gibbs on November 26, 1961.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and the United States Army. Dennis worked as a draftsman in Chicago from 1961-1965. He then was a Chicago, IL. police officer for ten years. More recently he was employed at Mitsubishi in Bloomington, IL. where he was a group leader for three years. He was a gifted artist. He painted, made jewelry, and carved wood.

Surviving are: his wife Sally Hatcher of Lincoln, daughter Denise Hatcher of Virginia, siblings: Dorothy Howard of Atlanta, GA., Delores Williams of Chicago, IL., Delphine Gross of New York, Larry Hatcher of Chicago, IL., Paula Hawkins of Chicago, IL., Patricia Hatcher of Chicago, IL., and Imogene Porter of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by may nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Doris Freeman.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lincoln, IL. Public Library and will be accepted at the funeral home.
