[March 21, 2013]  HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Lynx baseball moves to 5-2 overall with a recent 8-0 shutout of Hannibal-LaGrange.

Lincoln College got quality performances from the pitching staff in the nine-inning shutout, using four pitchers, giving up four hits and four walks while striking out 11. Cody Bolen (Hartem) got his third win on the year. Anthony Jerral (Fort Wayne, Ind.), Chance Simpson (Lewiston) and Ryan Rickert (Fort Wayne, Ind.) helped preserve the shutout.

Offensively Cody Litwiller (Eureka) went 2 for 2 with a double and three walks, and T.J. Carter (Delavan) went 3 for 5 with a double. The Lynx scored eight runs on 11 hits, with six extra-base hits.

The Lynx will play their home opener on Saturday at Galen Shirley Field with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. versus Lincoln Land Community College.
