McLEAN -- Robert D. Buck, 90, of
McLean, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at 2:55 p.m. at his home.

McLean- Robert D. Buck, 90, of McLean passed away
peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 2:55 p.m. in
the home that he grew up in.
Graveside Services for Mr. Buck will be held on
Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the McLean
Cemetery in rural McLean with Rev. Don Doty
officiating. Military Rites will be accorded by the
Burger Benedict American Legion Post #573.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from
6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Quiram Peasley
Funeral Home in Atlanta.
Robert D. Buck was born on January 13, 1923 at
Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington the son of Dan S.
and Charlotte (Behr) Buck. He married Sara "Sally"
Jane Farley on March 2, 1946 in Leland, Ill. She
preceded him in death on April 26, 2004.
He is survived by two sons: Scott F. (Mary) Buck of
Port Angeles, Wa., William D. (Kimberly) Buck of
rural McLean. Three grandchildren: Susan Buck of San
Diego, Ca., Maj. Matthew (Nikki) Buck of
Williamsburg, Virginia, James Buck of McLean.
Bob attended the McLean Grade School and graduated
from the McLean High School in the famous "Class of
1941." He managed to attend two years at the
University of Illinois before being called to duty
in the US Navy Reserve to be a "Avenger" TBM pilot
for the duration of World War II.

He was a stock and grain farmer. He enjoyed
woodworking and visiting with friends. He suffered
the losses of the Chicago Cubs quietly.
Bob was a member Burger Benedict American Legion
Post #573 in McLean.
He was a thirty year Board Member of the McLean
Cemetery Association and a sixty five year member of
the McLean Masonic Lodge #469 which merged with
Atlanta Masonic Lodge #165 AF & AM. A thirty-second
degree member of Bloomington Consistory.
The family would like to thank Dr. James Hancock of
Medical Hills and Advocate BroMenn's Adult Care
Services for their excellent care.
