Betty L. Singleton, 89, of Lincoln, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at
St. Clara's Manor.

Betty L. Singleton, 89, of Lincoln, passed away
March 24, 2013 at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln, IL.
Visitation will be from 10AM until 11 AM on Friday,
March 29, 2013 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral
Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM
on Friday also at the funeral home. Burial will
follow at 2PM at Camp Butler National Cemetery in
Riverton, IL. where she will be laid to rest beside
her husband.
Betty was born August 25, 1923 in Springfield, IL.,
the daughter of James and Ona (Bullock) Finn. She
married Fred Singleton on April 30, 1949 in Indiana.
He preceded her in death on August 01, 2002.
Betty was of the Protestant faith. She worked as a
cook for the Lincoln Public Schools and for Lincoln
Developmental Center before retiring from Lincoln
College in 1977 where she also worked as a cook.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the American
Legion Auxiliary, and the Am Vets of Lincoln, IL.
Surviving are her daughter Patricia Cross of
Bethany, IL., her son Roger Miller of Lincoln, IL.,
her daughter Mary Lou Guest of Litchfield, IL., 13
grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great
great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband Fred, her son David Miller, her daughter
Iris Chronister, her grandson David Ray Cross, 4
brothers: Hershel Finn, Raymond Finn, Richard Finn,
and David Lee Finn, and 4 sisters: Wilma Brandt,
Alice Leslie, Beulah Branham, and Eleanor Hurley.
Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.
