Carroll Catholic / New Holland-Middletown Scholastic Bowl team to compete in IESA state tournament Friday [May 01, 2013]  The Carroll Catholic / New Holland-Middletown Scholastic Bowl team will compete in the IESA state tournament in Peoria on Friday.

The team won the Virginia Sectional, with wins in matches with Illini Central Middle School and Elmwood Elementary School. The CCS/NHM team then secured the championship by winning the tiebreaker round against Elmwood and Tremont Middle School.

This is the first visit to the Scholastic Bowl state tournament for Carroll and for New Holland-Middletown.

The team will begin pool play at 1 p.m. on Friday.
