The company said its goal is to bring variability as close to zero as possible. It has already taken significant steps to address latencies related to trade confirmations already and will be making additional hardware, software and architectural upgrades through the remainder of the year to reach this goal. CME's stock edged down 33 cents, or 0.5 percent, to $60.54, in line with a broad decline in the market.
