LINCOLN-Harold E. Begolka, Sr, 80, of Lincoln died at 6:39 p.m. May 1, 2013 at St. John's Hospice, Springfield, IL.

Harold was born on June 10, 1932 in Lincoln, IL. the son of Walter Max and Anna P. Warren Begolka. He married Mary Belle Engelman on September 1, 1963 in Lincoln, Illinois. She preceded him in death July 5, 2005.

Surviving Harold are two sons: Harold E.(Shirley) Begolka, Jr of Springfield; Larry Alan Begolka of Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter: Laura Lee Begolka of Springfield; one brother: Robert Lee (Sharon) Begolka; one sister: Mary Ann Aper, both of Lincoln; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Harold was a member of St. John United Church of Christ; Land of Lincoln Antique Tractor and Engine Club; International Harvesters #10; Middletown Genealogists Society; and New Salem Grand Ole Opry. Harold was a retired farmer.

Services for Harold will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln with Rev. Jan Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research.
