Illinois grain prices in country elevators

[May 07, 2013]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Monday's report of the grain prices and trends, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were sharply lower on Monday afternoon.

Grain prices weakened as the extended weather forecast gave a small window for corn planting to resume in the cornbelt. According to the National Ag Statistics
Service, the nations corn planting was 12% complete, compared to 47% for the five year average.

Illinois producers had finished 7% of their corn planting, compared to 48% for the five year average.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 17 to 25 cents lower at 6.58-6.77.

Soybean bids were 15 to 17 cents lower at 14.18-14.33.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 23 to 25 cents lower at 6.57-6.72.

Soybean bids were 17 to 18 cents lower at 14.40-14.59.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 16 to 22 cents lower at 6.53-6.85.

Soybean bids were 14 to 20 cents lower at 14.40-14.54.

Wheat bids were 18 cents lower at 6.83-7.06.
