The probe by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration covers an estimated 340,000 F250 and F350 Super Duty Trucks from the 2008 model year.
The agency says it has gotten five complaints from owners that an internal failure of the steering-gear box made them completely unable to steer the trucks. No death or injuries have been reported. But one driver said a loss of control led to a crash into a parked vehicle.
Investigators will check whether there is a defect in the steering box and decide if a recall is needed. |
