Gladys "Norma" Heins, 96, of Lincoln, formerly of Elkhart, died
Sunday, May 12, 2013, at The Christian Village Congregate Building,
where she was a resident for more than 10 years.

Gladys "Norma" Heins, 96, of Lincoln, formerly of
Elkhart, passed away May 12, 2013 at the Christian
Village Congregate Building, Lincoln, IL. where she
was a resident for more than 10 years.
Visitation will be 10 AM until 11 AM Thursday, May
16, 2013 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home
in Lincoln. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on
Thursday also at the funeral home with Reverend Mark
Thompson of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial
will follow in Elkhart Cemetery.
Norma was born November 25, 1916 in East St. Louis,
Missouri, the daughter of Rufus Alva and Margaret
Elizabeth (Broehl) Donaldson. She married Carl J.
Heins on May 25, 1940 in Lincoln, IL. He preceded
her in death on July 13, 1999.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln
where she was active in the choir and chimes, a
member of the Lutheran Women Missionary League, a
member of the Lincoln Area Music Club, and a member
of the Stringalongs. Norma played the violin for
over 25 years. She was a hairdresser for more than
50 years.
Surviving are her daughter Judith (Mel) Allen of Las
Vegas, NV. She was Nini to grandchildren: Stacey
(Eric) Meyer of Las Vegas, NV, Eric (Mindy) Allen
and Brian (Kellie) Allen of Las Vegas, NV.,
Christopher (Ailene) Heins of Texas and Jennifer
(Rick) Goul of MO. She is also survived by 12
beautiful great grandchildren and sister Lucille
Eckert of Lincoln, IL.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband Carl, and her son Norman Heins.
Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran
Church or to The Christian Village and will be
accepted at the funeral home.
