Gary LaForge sings "Ol' Man River," a song he says always reminds him of one of New Holland-Middletown's most beloved teachers, the late Phyllis Blaum.  LaForge performed the song in honor of his music teacher at a special memorial service at the school last month. Read more about this, and hear LaForge sing in the story below.

TRAFFIC ALERT

9 a.m. -- The section of Keokuk Street between Union and Logan is currently closed due to a gas line cut and leak.  Police and fire departments are on the scene, and work is underway to repair the cut.

Noon -- We have reports that traffic is now being allowed to pass through on Keokuk. It appears it is one lane only in each direction. Please drive with care.
