Johnson is coming off an impressive senior year at Lebanon High,
where she was a defensive specialist. As a team, Lebanon went the
furthest in state playoffs in their entire history by winning their
regional tournament under a first-year head coach. As a player on
the back row, Johnson was able to record 114 total digs during her
season.
When asked about her decision to come to LCU, Johnson said: "I
love the school and have been interested in the volleyball program
for quite a while. I'm really looking forward to getting to know
everyone and be able to continuing to grow in my relationship with
Christ."
LCU volleyball head coach Dave Donnelly had this to say about the
signing: "Kyleigh is someone that popped up on our radar this last
season that we're really excited about. She's coming in from a high
school program that is on the upswing. She knows what it takes to
win, and she's someone that we believe will help us succeed our
goals here at LCU. We believe she'll be able to fit right in at the
school and help us continue our volleyball tradition."
