A strong wind blew, but it was
not a match for the tones of fervor as Gary LaForge sang "Ol' Man
River" in memory of his mentor, Mrs. Phyllis Blaum. She was a popular
music teacher at the school for many years. Many of Blaum's
family and past students were in attendance at the special memorial,
which included planting a lilac in her honor.
