[May 22, 2013]  ATLANTA -- Frank C. Kaup, 98, of Atlanta, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. at Luther Oaks in Bloomington.

Atlanta – Mr. Frank C. Kaup, 98, of Bloomington, formerly of Atlanta, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Luther Oaks Retirement Community in Bloomington.

Funeral services for Mr. Kaup will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Atlanta. Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013.

Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Kaup are his children: Roslie (Homer) Hamblin of Atlanta; Barbara (Richard) Wahls of Bloomington; and David (Kathy) Kaup of Metamora; ten grandchildren: Mark (Hortense) Hamblin, Gayle (Mike) Cluts, Laurie Hamblin, Jim (Melissa) Hamblin, Daniel (Lou Ann) Brown, Shelley (Robbie) Ballard, Rick (Becki) Wahls, Tony (Shannon) Wahls, Suzanne (Adam) Kishel and Matthew Kaup; 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kaup was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen, one daughter, Patricia Brown, one son-in-law, Robert Brown; six sisters and two brothers.

Funeral Director

Frank Carl Kaup was born April 2, 1915, in Bloomington, the son of Joseph and Catherine Tiber Kaup. He married Eileen B. Stahl in Champaign on February 27, 1937. She preceded him in death on November 5, 1984.

Frank served in the United States Army in World War II. He worked as a meat cutter for Buehler Brothers in Bloomington prior to purchasing and running Kaup's Superette in Atlanta in 1951 for thirty years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Atlanta, American Legion Post 341 of Atlanta, the Moose Lodge, the Eagles Lodge, the Bloomington Hungarian Club, and was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.

Memorials may be made to Atlanta Rescue Squad or the Hawes Historical Elevator in Atlanta.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
