The person spoke on condition of anonymity Friday because the team hasn't announced anything regarding Goodson's status. He missed the Jets' first three Organized Team Activity practices this week after being arrested last Friday on multiple charges of drug and weapons possession. He offered a plea of not guilty to all charges Wednesday in Morris County Superior Court in Morristown, N.J.
The Jets' next OTA will be Tuesday. It will be the fourth of 10 voluntary practices this spring.
Goodson has also played for Oakland and Carolina in his four NFL seasons, and has 722 career yards rushing. He was signed by the Jets as a free agent in March.
He was charged after he and a companion were found in an SUV stopped in the center-left lane of westbound Route 80 in Denville, N.J., last Friday morning, shortly after 3 a.m. The Jets train in nearby Florham Park, N.J.

Goodson faces charges of possession of marijuana (under 50 grams), unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a loaded handgun, possession of hollow-point ammunition and possession of drug paraphernalia. His attorney, Anthony Fusco Jr., has said he believes he will be able to prove the gun and ammunition do not belong to Goodson. The driver of the car was 31-year-old Garant Evans of Roselle, N.J.
Goodson's next court appearance is scheduled for June 12. That will be the second session of the Jets' three-day mandatory mini-camp.
