Melvin Jackson Darlington Sr., 81, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, May
22, 2013, at 10:40 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Lincoln- Melvin J. Darlington Sr., 81 of Lincoln
passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 10:40 a.m.
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Graveside Services will be held at Camp Butler
National Cemetery in Riverton, Illinois on Thursday,
May 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Military Rites
performed by Lincoln American Legion Post # 263.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013
from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peasley
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Melvin Jackson Darlington, Sr., was born on December
22, 1931 in Waynesville the son of Jack and Sarah
Caroline Cisco Darlington.
He is survived by his children: Patricia (Don) Smith
of Hartsburg, Douglas (Danita) Harndon of Nassau
Bay, Tx., Melvin J. (Marsha) Darlington Jr., of
Hartsburg, Jack (Becky) Darlington of Grand Prairie,
Tx. Carrie (Sue) Darlington of Cumming, Ga., and
five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two
brothers, John Darlington and Robert Darlington.

Melvin served in the United States Army.
He worked as a Truck Driver for Lincoln Transfer. He was member of the
Teamsters Union.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peasley Funeral Home. |
