Seminars today in Springfield for state of Illinois retirees

SPRINGFIELD — State Rep. Rich Brauer's office announced that there will be two Medicare Advantage
seminars in Springfield on Thursday for state of Illinois retirees.
At the seminars, state retirees can learn more about the Total
Retiree Advantage Illinois program, known as TRAIL. Central
Management Services personnel will answer questions.

Any state retiree affected may attend one of two sessions on
Thursday, 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., at Hope Evangelical Church, 3000
Lenhart Road in Springfield. The open enrollment period for state
retirees ends Dec. 13.
Vision, dental and life insurance benefit plans are not changing.
However, retirees must enroll in one of the state-sponsored MA-PD
plans to continue having access to existing vision coverage. Life
insurance coverage and, if elected, dental coverage, continue
automatically.

Retirees will remain enrolled in their current state health care
plan through Jan. 31, 2014. The new MA-PD plan retirees choose will
start Feb. 1, 2014.
