[November 18, 2013]  WASHINGTON, Ill. (AP) — Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn is heading to storm-damaged communities across Illinois.

The Chicago Democrat is set to visit five communities in central and southern Illinois on Monday to see damage up close.

The governor's office says he'll start the day in Chicago, where he'll give a briefing on the restoration effort from Sunday's massive storms.

Then he'll head to hard-hit Washington, where entire blocks were leveled.

The governor's also set to visit Diamond, Gifford, Brookport and New Minden.

The wave of storms pummeled Illinois, killing at least six people.
