            		LINCOLN — LaVara Elizabeth Leonard 
			Moore, 104, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at 8:05 a.m. at St. Clara's 
			Manor. (Below is a copy of 
							the obituary from the funeral home.) ___ 
							Lincoln- LaVara Elizabeth Leonard Moore, 104, passed 
							away at 8:05 A.M. on Sunday November 17, 2013 at St. 
							Clara's Manor in Lincoln. 
							LaVara was born on January 9, 1909 in Atlanta, IL; 
							daughter of Berte and Ethel Green Leonard. She 
							married Carl B Moore on August 3, 1939 in Grand 
							Haven, MI; he preceded her in death on May 1, 1960. 
							She was a grade school teacher for 38 years. She was 
							a member of The United Methodist Church in Lincoln, 
							Methodist Women, Illinois Retired Teacher 
							Association, Book Club, and the Philanthropic 
							Education Organization. | 
                    
					 
							She is survived by one son: Charles L Moore of San 
							Diego, CA: two grandchildren: Jacqueline Roecker of 
							Naples, FL and Richard Roecker of Chicago, IL. She 
							was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, 
							and daughter Margaret. 
							Services for LaVara will be 10 A.M. Friday November 
							22, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of 
							Lincoln with Rev. Roger David officiating. A burial 
							at Zion Cemetery will follow the service. Memorials 
							may be given to the Chaddock Children Foundation.
