Last week, federal officials reported that only
1,370 Illinois residents managed to submit an application and
select a private health plan on the troubled HealthCare.gov
website.
The Health Care Reform Implementation Council will meet Tuesday
via teleconference in Chicago and Springfield. The agenda
includes a look at the Illinois health insurance marketplace,
Medicaid expansion and efforts to prevent fraud.
The task force was created by Gov. Pat Quinn in 2010 and is
headed by Quinn's senior health policy adviser, Michael Gelder.
It's made up of state government officials who head departments
related to health care and insurance.
