In the 5 p.m. game, the women's teams came out shooting. From early
on, it was clear the Panthers were there to play, as they scored a
dozen points before LCU could get two. LCU would trail throughout
the game. As the game neared the end, the LCU players who had spent
the weekend in the NCCAA Division II national volleyball tournament
had settled in, and their team was able to close the scoring gap a
bit. In the end, it would be LCU 42 and Greenville 86, with
sophomore Tatiana Colclasure leading the Red Lions in scoring with
15 points, followed by senior Moriah Kirkpatrick with 10 points.
Head coach Amanda Bowman believes her team has "the talent to be
more competitive once I have a chance to train all of my players
together," noting the challenges associated with practicing a
basketball team with half of the players still competing in their
fall season sports until just recently.
In the 7 p.m. game, the Red Lions men's team ran out to an early
double-digit lead. They saw that lead washed away late in the first
half under the rain of 3-pointers tossed up by the Panthers to draw
the difference to one point before the midpoint of the first half.
Once Greenville took the lead, they did not relinquish it, and LCU
would suffer its second loss of the season.

At the final buzzer, LCU found itself on the wrong side of
the 82-62 score line despite strong performances from senior
David Graves with 17 points and Peoria native Anthony Rush
contributing 13 points.
Head coach Mac Ingmire expected the matchup with Greenville to be
an uphill battle for his Red Lions. "It was good preparation for our
next several games against NCCAA opponents," he said.
Both LCU basketball teams headed out to Pennsylvania on Wednesday
morning to play in the Hersha Classic at Valley Forge Christian
College in Phoenixville.
