[November 23, 2013]  NORMAL — Ferd B. Decker, 74, of Normal, formerly of Atlanta, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Normal- Ferd B. Decker, 74, of Normal formerly of Atlanta passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Decker will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Quiram Peasley Funeral Home with Mr. Norman Decker and Mr. Bill Decker officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at a later date in the Atlanta Cemetery.

Ferd Brady Decker was born on May 16, 1939 in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas the son of Quint and Florence Shelton Decker. He married Dixie Benedict on October 11, 1957 in Holly Springs, Mississippi.

Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Dixie, daughters: Janet (Darrell) Crutchley of Atlanta, Angela (Darrell) Beehn of Shirley, Dawn (Jeff) Hayashida of Pueblo West, Co., One brother: Norman (Nova) Decker of Arkansas, Mary Jo Ryman of Wisconsin. Eight grandchildren, Six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son: Steven Wayne Decker, one brother: Bobby Decker.

Funeral Director

Ferd was an owner / operator over the road truck driver for over 40 years. He drove more than a million miles accident free.

He was an avid Cardinals fan.

Ferd was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He enjoyed the simple things in life like spending time with his family and friends, camping and RVing.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
