[November 25, 2013]  McLEANSBORO (AP) — Authorities say five people, including a teenage girl, died after a fatal single-vehicle crash in southern Illinois this weekend.

Saturday night's crash took place in the Hamilton County community of McLeansboro.

Illinois State Police say the driver of a Chevrolet TrailBlazer lost control of the vehicle, which flipped several times, throwing five people from the car. A sixth person, who authorities say was the only one in the vehicle wearing a seat belt, was trapped inside.

Authorities say the victims were 35, 42, 23, 49 and 16. A sixth person, the 49-year-old driver, was taken to a hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Illinois State Police say they're still investigating what caused the crash.

McLeansboro is about 100 miles southeast of St. Louis.
