LINCOLN -- David L. Mote, 70, of
Lincoln, died Sunday morning, Sept. 29, 2013, at his home.

Lincoln- David L. Mote, 70, of Lincoln passed from
his earthly home to his heavenly home on Sunday
morning, September 29, 2013 at his home surrounded
by his loving family.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Wednesday,
October 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jefferson
Street Christian Church with his son: Kevin Mote
officiating. Military Rites will be accorded by
American Legion Post #263 of Lincoln.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time
of the service on Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be at a later date at Zion Cemetery in
Lincoln.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
The family has entrusted his arrangements to the
Peasley Funeral Home.
David L. Mote was born on May 5, 1943 in Lincoln the
son of Herbert William and Marjorie Alexander Mote.
He married Mary C. Agent on April 24, 1964 in
Lincoln. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Angela (James) Mote
Stewart of Pontiac, Kevin Mote of Milton, Iowa, Six
grandchildren: Matthew English, Katelyn Stewart,
Mikayla Stewart, Tyler Stewart, Taylor Mote,
Emaleigh Mote. His siblings: Patricia Emmons of
Pekin, Ronald Mote of Lincoln, Myra Gleason of Pekin,
Gayla (Jim) Wright of Lincoln, William (Vickie) Mote
of Normal, Kathleen (Max) McCoy of Pekin, Rodney
(Laura) Mote of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sister:
Margaret Ann Grimsley, Doris Delany.
David graduated from the Lincoln Community High
School in 1962. He then join the Air National Guard.
He retired from the Illinois Department of
Corrections in 2003 as a Correctional Officer. He
was a member of the Jefferson Christian Church in
Lincoln. He was a man of faith and integrity who was
loved by his family and many friends.
