"The people who live in our rural marketplace work hard to make
their communities a better place," said Grinnell Mutual's Barb
Baker, director of advertising and community relations. "They work
together volunteering, coaching and fundraising. Their efforts make
their communities better. 'Working Together Making It Better' is
Grinnell Mutual's way of recognizing the work they do."
People can participate in two ways in "Working Together Making It
Better." First, they can submit projects that would help improve the
communities in which they live. Then, beginning Nov. 12, they can
vote at Grinnell Mutual's Facebook page for the project they believe
is the best project for "Working Together Making It Better."
Grinnell Mutual will accept submissions on its Facebook page,
https://www.facebook.com/myGrinnellMutual, through Oct. 31.
Projects must have or affiliate with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt
organization and be located in one of 12 states in which Grinnell
Mutual does business: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri,
Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota
and Wisconsin.
"People living and working in rural areas know what it takes to
make a community a better place," said Baker. "Their votes on
Grinnell Mutual's Facebook page will decide which projects will
receive grants through 'Working Together Making It Better.'"
