CIRCULAR SAWS 

Festool USA is recalling TS 55 REQ Plunge Cut Circular Saw sold nationwide and inCanada from May 2013 to July 2013. The plunge lock can engage when not intended, causing the saw blade to remain exposed from the housing following completion of the plunge cut and posing a laceration hazard. 

The TS 55 REQ is a small, portable, circular saw for woodcutting with a 160 mm saw blade, aluminum guide rails and a plunge cut feature.  Recalled saws include date codes ranging from 02/13 to 05/13 and serial numbers 40033594 through 40074108.

SURGE PROTECTORS 

Schneider Electric is recalling APC SurgeArrest surge protectors sold nationwide from January 1993 to December 2002. The surge protectors can overheat, smoke and melt, posing a fire hazard. 

This recall involves APC 7 and 8 series SurgeArrest surge protectors manufactured before 2003. The two numbers that follow the first letter or letters in the serial number sequence indicate the year of manufacture. The unit is included in the recall if the numbers are 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 00, 01 or 02. A complete list can be found at www.recalls.org
