Last week Gov. Pat Quinn
announced a capital investment of $838,000 for a renovation project
at the Lincoln Correctional Center. The project is part of the
governor's agenda to create jobs and drive Illinois' economy
forward.

"This construction project will address life safety issues at this
critical Department of Corrections facility," Quinn said. "It will
also employ a number of construction workers, which will help the
local economy as well." The entire temperature control and fire
alarm system in 13 buildings at the Lincoln Correctional Center will
be replaced. The ventilation work will be done by Environmental
Control Solutions of Springfield, the lower of two bidders at
$400,000. The electrical work will be performed for $438,195 by
Ruyle Mechanical Services of Peoria, the lowest of five bidders.
The facility is administered by the Illinois Department of
Corrections. The project will be managed by the Illinois Capital
Development Board.

This project is part of Quinn's $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now
program, which will support more than 439,000 jobs over six years.
It is the largest capital construction program in Illinois history
and one of the largest capital construction programs in the nation.
