Loren Robert Hoagland, 89, of Lincoln, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at
his home.

Loren Robert Hoagland, 89, of Lincoln, passed away
October 7, 2013 at his home.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2013
at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral
services will be 11 AM Wednesday, October 16, 2013 also at
the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Loren was born February 4, 1924 in Lincoln, IL., the son
of Theodore and Leona (Thompson) Hoagland. He married Audrey
Musick on December 21, 1942 in Missouri. She preceded him in
death on August 19, 1973.

He was one of the
owners, chief mechanic, and professional truck
driver for Hoagland Motors and Hoagland Transfer.
Loren was a member of the Lincoln Elks Lodge #914,
the Fraternal order of Eagles, AMVETS, and the
American Legion Post 263 in Lincoln.
He proudly served his country in
the United States Navy as a first class machinist mate on
the USS Thompson DD 627 during the invasion of Normandy.
Surviving are his children: Gary
(Carol) Hoagland of Florida, Robert (Laurie) Hoagland of
Rhode Island, William Hoagland of Lincoln, IL., and Marilee
(Kim) Bruns of Pennsylvania; 7 grandchildren; 8 great
grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and cousin Bud
(Helen) Hoagland of Lincoln, IL. also survive.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, his wife, 4 brothers, and granddaughter Jacy
Hoagland.
Memorial donations may be made
to Jacy's Gift in memory of his granddaughter and will be
accepted at the funeral home.
