The Lincoln Christian University
volleyball team hosted NCAA Division III opponent Augustana College on
Saturday afternoon at the Laughlin Center. It was a tough-fought match,
but Augustana was able to pull out the victory, winning three sets to
one.

LCU started the match fighting, winning the first set 26-24, but lost
the remaining three sets with scores of 15-25, 16-25 and 22-25.
Augustana proved to have too much height against LCU, as the
visitors blocked attempt after attempt from LCU's front-row attack.
After losing the first set, Augustana dominated the rest of the
match.
LCU's two outside hitters, freshman Erin Taylor (Noble/West
Richland High) and junior Alicia Carson (Gobles, Mich./Bloomingdale
High), led the way in kills, recording 10 each. Junior libero Emma
Donnelly (Clinton/Clinton High) led the way in digs as she recorded
35 on the match.

LCU will return to action this week Friday and
Saturday as they travel to Calumet College in Whiting, Ind., to
play in St. Joseph's Crimson Wave Invitational.
