[October 23, 2013]  PEORIA -- The Lincoln College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the open race at the Bradley Classic invitational over the weekend. Over 20 schools were represented, and both LC teams placed 12th.

The top finisher for the women's team was Tina Demogerontas. She ran the 6K course in a time of 25:26, placing her 55th. The others in the top five for the LC ladies were Akiya Thompson, 104th; Kalina Gordley, 107th, Teandria Bouliox, 113th; and Lizzi Herzog, 115th.

The men's team was led by John Davis. He ran the 8K course in 29:22, placing him 67th. The others in the top five for the LC men were Josh Montgomery, 72nd; Joel Flore, 80th; Zach Humphery, 100th; and Chris Steward, 105th.

Coach Herron said: "Most of our athletes dropped time today, so for the most part I am pretty happy. The major issue is that our region meet is next week, and we have a lot more work to do in order to move on to the national meet. I feel that we are due for a significant drop in time, and the region meet would be the perfect time to do it."
