Holley Randolph

[October 28, 2013]  ATLANTA -- Holley A. Randolph, 96, of Atlanta, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at 7:45 p.m. at Heartland Health Care Center, Normal.

Atlanta - Holley A. Randolph, 96, of Atlanta, passed away at 7:45 p. m. Friday (October 25, 2013) at Heartland Health Care Center, Normal.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Atlanta United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rob Roy officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Cemetery, rural Kenney, Illinois.

Holley Adair was born September 14, 1917, in Waynesville, Illinois, the daughter of Andrew V. and Susan E. Holley Adair. She married Richard Roy Randolph on February 27, 1938, in Waynesville. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1995.

She is survived by her children: Laura S. (Charles) Baue, Bloomington, Ruth (Glenn) Gordon, Atlanta, and Sarah (Marty) Shipley, Bloomington; her grandchildren: Steven Gordon, David G. Gordon, Dianna Gordon Laney, Suzanne Gordon Hines, John Cisco, James Cisco, and Jennifer Cheek; and nine great grandchildren. Other survivors include special sisters-in-law: Nellie Randolph Leimbach, Mt. Pulaski, and Leona Adair, Florida, plus many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, David L. Randolph, and two brothers: Robert G. Adair, and James R. Adair.

Holley graduated from Waynesville High School and attended Illinois State Normal University. She worked with her husband for many years in the Randolph Insurance Agency, Atlanta.

Funeral Director

Holley was a member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church, Atlanta United Methodist Women, and the Atlanta Women's Club. She was known as an excellent cook and enjoyed painting, music, animals, and flowers. . A sweet and gentle person, Holley was dedicated to her family and always placed others first. She will be missed dearly by those whose lives she touched.

The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Kindred and the nursing staff at Heartland Health Care Center for the care their mother received as their patient for many years.

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta United Methodist Church, the Baby Fold, or a charity of the donor's choice.
