Despite having 15 corner kicks and 12 shots on goal, Lincoln was
unable to score a goal. ICC ended up with three corner kicks and six
shots on goal. Lincoln had several chances in the first half that
were cleared off the line by ICC players, and despite having several
very good looks at goal, the halftime score was 0-0.
"We were very displeased on how we didn't get the ball into the
net," said LC head coach Ben Massena. "This is the time of the year
you can't waste chances, and we did."
ICC would come out the second half with the wind and pressed
hard. Lincoln's center midfielder would receive a second yellow, and
Lincoln would have to play the last 20 minutes of regulation a man
down. ICC was awarded a penalty late in the game, but goalie Daniel
Martinez came up big making the save.

In OT, both teams had good looks at goal but neither could
score, ending the game 0-0 in two OTs.
In the penalty shootout, Martinez came up big again, stopping one
penalty kick and throwing off the ICC players to help Lincoln win
3-1 in the shootout.
Lincoln advances to the semifinal versus Lincoln Land at 2 p.m.
Wednesday.
