			Richard Earl Funk, 93, of Lincoln, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at 
			7:50 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital with family by his 
			side. (Below is a copy of 
							the obituary from the funeral home.) ___ 
							LINCOLN-Richard Earl Funk, 93, of Lincoln, IL died 
							at 7:50 a.m. October 28, 2013 at Abraham Lincoln 
							Memorial Hospital with family by his side. 
							Richard was born July 23, 1920 in Lincoln, the son 
							of Daniel and Lula Huff Funk. He married Erma Knight 
							June 22, 1947 in Lincoln. She preceded him in death 
							December 30, 1997.  
							Richard is survived by two sons: Thomas (Karrie) 
							Funk of Lincoln; Kevin (Doris) Funk of Red Wing, MN; 
							one brother: Larry Funk of Lincoln; one sister: 
							Alice Taylor of Morton, IL; a very special friend: 
							Helen Hullinger of Lincoln; five grandchildren: 
							Neenah (Andy) Maier of Seattle, WA; Natalie Funk of 
							Red Wing, MN; Abby Funk, Julianne Funk, and Noah 
							Funk, all of Lincoln. He was preceded by his 
							parents, wife, brothers: Paul, Don, Virgil, Buford, 
							and Kenneth Funk and sister: Pauline. | 
                    
					 
							Richard served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was 
							a dispatcher for Cilco Utility Co. and truck driver 
							for Cilco. He had served as President of the Park 
							District Board; was a member of Lincoln Christian 
							Church; the American Legion Post #263; Jolly 
							Seniors; and Christian Corner Sunday School Class. 
							Services for Richard will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, 
							October 31, 2013 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader 
							Funeral Home, Lincoln with Ryan Edgecombe 
							officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 
							4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be 
							at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in Camp Butler National 
							Cemetery, Springfield, IL. with full military rites 
							accorded by Lincoln American Legion Post #263 Honor 
							Guard. Memorials can be given to American Legion 
							Post #263 or Lincoln Christian Church. |
