The game began at 1 p.m. with the temperature in the mid-90s and the
heat index well above 100. LCU and Robert Morris both came out
fighting but failed to score any points as both teams were held
scoreless throughout the first half.
When the second half rolled around, LCU was rejuvenated and was
able to put in two shots on the goal and grab the win. Scoring for
LCU were senior Jessica Hoskins (Hudson/Heartland CC) and freshman
Mykenzie Witzke (Clinton/Olivet Nazarene University). Senior Margo
Mriscin (Greenville/Greenville High) recorded the single assist for
the game. As a team, LCU was able to take 20 total shots on the
goal.
LCU senior goalkeeper Ashlan Rose (Chatham/Glenwood High) had a
standout performance between the goalposts, as she recorded her
season's first shutout while grabbing three saves.

"We played pretty well considering the heat and our lack of
subs," said LCU head coach Todd Spellman. "Remarkably well in
fact, since we came out faster and more deliberate in the second
half."
The LCU women's soccer team returns to action when they host
Mid-West Region foe Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Saturday at 4
p.m. at the LCU soccer field.
