Tuesday evening, several Amtrak passengers were forced into a long layover in Lincoln. South of the city there was a problem with the bridge over Salt Creek, and it was deemed unsafe for rail traffic. Some passengers were loaded onto buses and taken to Springfield to proceed on their journey south. Others were forced to return to Chicago and board a new train with a different route.  Read more about this in the story below.
