EMDEN -- Zachary Taylor Braddy, 18, of
Emden, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in
Centralia.

ZACHARY TAYLOR BRADDY, 18, of Emden, IL died
September 2, 2013 at St. Mary Hospital in Centralia.
Born August 16, 1995 in Centralia, he was the son of
Kevin H. and Angela (Boatman) Braddy.
Zachary had just recently moved from his family home
with his mother & step-father in Emden to Bryon
Manor in Centralia.
Though Zachary had multiple disabilities, he
possessed a very outgoing spirit and never knew a
stranger. He enjoyed being with his families &
friends in both Emden & Salem. Zachary loved his
teachers, classmates, & caretakers. He made many
friends during his years attending school in
Lincoln. Zachary enjoyed spending time at Christian
Child Care with his Mom and the many children of all
ages there. He enjoyed Sunday school and church
services. Zachary enjoyed spending time with his
grandparents and loved the way Grandpa Boatman could
make him laugh. He loved petting and cuddling with
"Julian" the family's pet cat.
Zach especially liked his younger brother and sister
pushing him around in his wheel chair as he
expressed abundant laughter. He enjoyed hearing his
older sisters sing and his brother play the drums.
He liked watching cartoons, listening to music,
swimming and was especially fond of balloons; many
balloons. He loved the sound of anything motorized
and especially like trucks, both real and toy which
included spending time at the Iuka Fire Station with
the firetrucks that his Dad served on. He was a St.
Louis Cardinal fan. Watching football with his Dad
was a special moment for both father and son.
Zachary is survived by his parents Angela (Boatman)
and Lee Reiners and Kevin and Lacey (Middleton)
Braddy. Also surviving are:
Two brothers Andrew of Salem, IL and Jesse Reiners
of Atlanta, IL,
Three sisters, Makayla at Salem, IL Emily Reiners of
Warrensburg, IL and Elizabeth Reiners of Atlanta,
IL,
Grandparents, Larry and Linda Braddy of Walnut Hill,
IL, Paul and Mary Boatman of Lincoln, IL and Mark
and Della Middleton of Kinmundy, IL,
Great Grandparents, Carroll and Arletha Crain of
Kinmundy, IL,
His nephew Jaxson McMullen of Atlanta, IL,
Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a host of friends
He was preceded in death by grandparents John and
Alta Braddy, Joe and Nancy Middleton, Bill and
"Grandma Ginny" Strong, Cleo and Ruth Reiners,
Robert and Stella Kinney and Russell and Lutie
Boatman.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday at the
Rankin Funeral Home in Salem with Bill Cash
officiating. Visitation will occur one hour before the
service. Burial will follow at the Summit Prairie Cemetery.
A Memorial service for family and friends will be held at
the Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln, IL at 7:00
P.M. on Friday. Dr. Tom Ewald will officiate. Friends may
visit with the family one hour prior to the memorial
service.
Memorials may be made to the Carol Jo Vechie Center at St.
Johns Hospital, Springfield, IL.
