Geraldine M. Heinzel, 95, of Lincoln died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at
7:25 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

LINCOLN-Geraldine M. Heinzel, 95, of Lincoln died at
7:25 pm on September 9, 2013 at St. Clara's Manor,
Lincoln.
Geraldine was born July 29, 1918 in Lincoln the
daughter of John and Clara
Redman Hopp. She married Carl W. Heinzel on January
31, 1939. He preceded her in death January 31, 2003.
Geraldine is survived by children: Donald (Mary)
Heinzel of Peoria;
Sandra Crews of Medford, OR and Shirlee (Gordon)
Johnson of Lincoln; one brother: James W. (Diana)
Hopp of Sun City West, AZ; 12 grandchildren; 24
great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4
brothers: Robert, Donald, Harold, and Paul Hopp; one
sister: Nettie Jane Warden.

Geraldine worked as a switchboard operator; sales
clerk for Spurgeons; and then at J.C. Penney's. She
was a faithful member of Lincoln Hill Free Methodist
Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, song
leader, pianist and superintendent of Children's
Church. She was a member of Women's Christian
Temperance Union and Women's Missionary Society.
Services for Geraldine will be Saturday, September
14, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home, Lincoln with Rev. Aaron Johnson
and Rev. Thomas Bryant officiating. Burial will be
in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be
Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in her memory to the
Alzheimer's Association Greater Illinois Chapter.
