MIDDLETOWN -- Paul James Poole, 60, of
Middletown, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at 3:45 p.m. at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Middletown- Paul James Poole, 60, of Middletown
passed away at 3:45 P.M. on Saturday, September 28,
2013 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Paul was born on August 23, 1953 in Middletown, son
of Herald Dean and Charlene Marie Davison Poole.
Paul was united in marriage to Vickie Watson on
August 4, 1990 in Middletown. She survives him in
Middletown. Other survivors include his children:
Megan Marie Poole of Springfield; Michael (Vivian)
Watson of Culver City, CA; Britney (David) Bates and
Tyler (Kristee) Watson, both of Henderson, NV;
brothers: Joe (Shirley) Poole of Bloomington, IL;
Roy Poole of Hampton, VA; sister: Rachel Landers of
Taylorville, IL; and his grandchildren: Henry,
Harper, Brielle, and Benjamin. He was preceded in
death by his parents and his brother Gary Poole.

Paul served his country in the U.S. Marines. Paul
later was the Chief of Police for Middletown, a part
time police officer in Elkhart, and a truck driver
for Croft Fertilizer Company. Paul was a member of
the Middletown Presbyterian Church and the
Middletown American Legion Post # 672. He was also a
previous Mayor of Middletown.
Services for Paul will be at 10 A.M. on Wednesday,
October 2, 2013 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, services will be
conducted by Allen Dean. A visitation will be held
from 4-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 1, also at the
funeral home. Burial will follow the service to
Irish Grove Cemetery in Middletown with full
military rites being accorded. Memorials may be made
to the Middletown Presbyterian Church.
